What is a Medium?

 

A medium is someone who can communicate with spirits using clairvoyancy, clairsentience, clairaudience, clairalience and clairgustance.

This ability can help bereaved loved ones get closure on death and helps to bring hope that our loved ones don't simply die and disappear.

Quite often the pain of death and mourning is heightened at the thought of what has happened to our loved ones when they pass from this world to the next - it is a very comforting thought to know that they still exist albeit in a different place.

Fears such as who are they with?  Are they alone?  Are they still in pain?  These emotions are all very real to surviving family members and close friends, but when the spirit returns to speak to their families through a medium it can bring such great peace and acceptance that was maybe otherwise missing and hindering the family from moving on and living their own lives as they were meant too.

It is important to note that a medium has no powers of persuasion when it comes to what spirit communicates or indeed if they come forward to communicate at all.  Some spirits are too shy to come forward and can take a long time to do so especially if the pain around their death is still very much part of the persons life or if there is residual anger for the spirit from the person still living.

When we speak of spirit it is comforting to know that the medium will normally see the spirit in the form that they may most be remembered as - not necessarily how the surviving family member or friend remembers them.  The spirit will still have all the personality traits that they would have had when alive and it is this that compels living family members to accept what the medium tells them is indeed from their loved ones.

Simple things like particular phrases or actions hair colours and styles - all things very specific to the spirit and how they would be remembered.

It is also important to note that mediumship is very different from card readings, crytstal ball readings, palmistry etc as it is direct communication with spirits linked to the living person through the medium.
